Diastasis Recti

Diastasis Recti, also known as “abdominal muscle separation,” is a common concern for women, especially after pregnancy. A separation happens when the connective tissue stretches during the third trimester leaving a soft “gap” between the two halves of the rectus abdominus muscle. Diastasis recti can make your abdominal muscles weaker, lead to lower back pain and many women are concerned about the appearance of the tummy after pregnancy.

How We Can Help

The Mummy MOT assessment thoroughly assesses the abdominal wall, measuring any gap between the muscles as well as underlying tension created by the core muscles. You will be given a bespoke program of exercises and advice and possibly soft tissue techniques to help close the gap and restore full function to your abdominal wall.
