Gynaecological physiotherapy

A range of different conditions can affect the function of your pelvic floor and mean you may benefit from seeing a pelvic floor specialist.

These may include:

  • Urinary frequency, urge, incontinence or emptying your bladder a lot at night.
  • Bowel dysfunction including constipation, incontinence or difficulty emptying your bowel.
  • Pelvic organ prolapse, laxity and loss of support of the pelvic organs the bladder, bowel and/or uterus.
  • Pelvic pain including vulvodynia, vaginismus, genitourinary symptoms of the menopause (vaginal dryness/atrophy), painful sex, endometriosis.

Pre and post operative rehabilitation. To ensure your pelvic floor and surrounding muscles are functioning well before surgery and to help support your recovery following hysterectomy, pelvic floor repair and bowel surgery for example.

Pre and postnatal rehabilitation for pain and pelvic floor dysfunction during and after pregnancy.
