I am passionate about the mental and emotional wellbeing of women and their families. Having worked as a midwife, I found I was continually drawn to this and recognised how the mind had such an impact on the mechanisms of birth. This led me to become a hypnobirthing practitioner, which I later introduced into my local NHS Trust. Training midwives, expectant women and partners in hypnobirthing fuelled my passion. I believe it is so important to train the mind for birth just as much as gaining the knowledge and understanding in how the body births and what to expect.
I went on to train as a hypnotherapist where I worked predominantly with women struggling with anxiety and depression. Further training in birth trauma resolution therapy enabled me to help women and their partners move forward following a difficult birth experience. Post birth, in particular, is where my interest predominantly lies as I feel more help and support is needed here for those struggling.
Having more recently been working in collaboration with another midwife, providing antenatal and postnatal support to women and their families, I am now looking forward to providing this within the Mummy Hub Clinic, alongside Jenny and other great professionals who are also, like myself, passionate about women’s health.
